Cody Erickson of Ulen, Minnesota is a finalist in the 2014 PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge 2.
The Ulen, Minnesota Farmer who races in the Wissota Modified division has made his rounds to several of the area tracks in his spare time, and more recently joined the United States Modified Touring Series “USMTS’ traveling to, Southern Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and in the winter months to Tucson, Arizona, and Humboldt, Kansas. Erickson has also started building his own winning race cars known as “T&E Chassis.” The local racer heard of the challenge from a buddy of his and decided to check it out. The “PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge” is a nationwide search to find an amateur racer who has what it takes to be a professional driver. The Challenge was launched and is sponsored by PEAK Antifreeze & Motor Oil and Michael Waltrip Racing. 2013 was the inaugural season with 700 entrants and narrowed down to one breakout star. The PEAK Stock Car Dream Challenge will give one grassroots racer a big boost by providing the contest winner with a PEAK racing sponsorship in 2014 NASCAR K&N Pro Series race. Finalist were selected via video auditions, racing resume, and social media fan support. 18 finalists will get to train and compete for the Stock Car Dream Challenge title. Cody Erickson, with the help of Scott Sailer of Fargo ND, the owner and CEO of The Racing Life put together Erickson’s video for the PEAK challenge as he had footage on Erickson already from his “The Racing Life” series that was televised on local stations for 2 seasons. Cody Erickson, as a finalist in the Stock Car Dream challenge will be heading to the ‘Showdown in Charlotte” June 8th-11th where the 18 finalists will compete in a three day racing competition which will include on track challenges. With coaching and judging from some of the sport’s biggest stars including Micheal Waltrip Racing Team drivers, and PEAK representatives and PEAK ambassadors Danica Patrick, Clint Bowyer, Brian Vickers, and Jeff Burton. The Competition will be filmed for television segments that will premiere in the fall.
